I still take it being vegan because I know I don’t get enough protein and nutrients throughout the day. This has absolutely nothing to do with the vegan lifestyle and more to do with the fact that I am short with I swear the smallest stomach in the world.
I’m not the type of person who eats three meals plus snacks throughout the day. I typically eat two meals a day for sure and perhaps a snack if I am starving.
Having a smaller appetite means I don’t eat enough nutrition to support the active lifestyle I like to maintain. Yes, you can get more than enough nutrients from a vegan lifestyle, but you need to eat enough to achieve that.

As I said at the beginning of this review, I have tried so many different protein powders I lost track. However, I do have a clear memory of the taste of most of them because it is something you just don’t forget. Typically protein powders are chalky, thick, or make my mouth a bit dry.
I don’t use my protein powders in shakes or food; typically, I prefer to mix it with water so I can really tell the baseline taste.
Right off the bat, Naked Vanilla Casein had a taste that jumped out at me. The casein powder is vanilla flavored, and it is a rich and smooth vanilla flavor that tastes amazing even when mixed with water alone. It’s like a dessert treat I look forward to before or after my workouts.
I decided I would start to get fancy with my protein routine, and when made into actual food, my mind was seriously blown.
I got some inspiration from their actual blog. My favorite recipes are below! They are super easy to make and super delicious.
Protein Cookie Dough
- 1 scoop casein protein powder
- 1tbsp peanut butter (or almond butter, etc)
- 1tsp chocolate chips (I prefer dark chocolate)
- 1/3 to 1/2cup water (adjust to desire texture)
Combine the protein and peanut butter in a bowl until thoroughly mixed. Slowly add the water until the mixture resembles dough. Mix in the chocolate chips.
Protein Mug Brownie
- 1 scoop Naked Casein protein powder
- 1 egg
- 1tbsp flour
- 1tbsp baking cocoa
- 1/2tsp baking powder
- 1/4cup milk (I sub almond or coconut)
Spray a microwave-safe mug with nonstick spray. Combine all ingredients in a separate bowl and mix well. Add the mixture to the mug. Cover the mug with plastic wrap and microwave for 30 seconds to a minute (depending on the size of the mug and power of the microwave).
EGG WHITE PROTEIN POWDER
Egg white protein powder is a bit newer to the market.
What is egg white protein powder?

Pretty much, yes. The color might be a bit different but the ingredients are almost the same. Egg white protein powder is going to have a big more protein vs. egg white powder.
Does egg white protein powder have a flavor?
Not really. The best thing about this powder is because it is flavorless you can mix it with things like juice and you don’t have to rely on just using it in shakes or smoothies.
A fun reipie I like to make with this powder is protein powder crepes. All you need is two ingrendietns.
- 1/2 cup egg whites
- 1 scoop (30 grams) vanilla protein powder
Place a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. In a bowl combine egg whites and protein powder. Whisk until protein powder is dissolved. Scoop about 1/2 of the mixture or 1/3 of the mix if using a smaller pan, into the pan, and rotate the pan around so the batter spreads thin. Cook until the bottom is lightly browned and flip it over to cook through.
Is egg white protein powder better than whey?
This answer is going to be dependent on the person and their fitness goals. Whey contains upwards of 2 grams of fat per 25 grams of protein and 3 grams of carbohydrates per 25 grams of protein. Egg white protein contains only 2 grams of carbohydrates per 25 grams of protein and no fats.
This can be better for those who want to feel full on fewer calories.
Which is healthier egg white or yellow?
The genius of this powder is that the white part of the egg actually contains the most protein vs. the egg yolk carries the cholesterol, fats, and the bulk of the overall calories.
