What is heat rash?
Heat rash appears as tiny red lumps or blisters, that may cause itchiness or a prickly feeling. Heat rash is common during hot, humid weather. In good cases it only covers a small area of your body, and in bad cases it can cover large areas of your body.
What does heat rash look like?
Heat rash can look severe and it can also appear in a more mild form. Either way they’re annoying and you’re going to want to get rid of them as fast as you can!
What causes heat rash?
Heat rash occurs when the skin’s sweat glands are blocked and the sweat produced cannot get to the surface of the skin to evaporate. This causes inflammation that results in a rash. Common symptoms of heat rash include red bumps on the skin, and a prickly or itchy feeling to the skin (also known as pricklyheat).
Can heat rash go away on its own?
Heat rash will eventually go away on its own over time.
Below are helpful ways to speed up the process of eliminating heat rash fast, and remedies to aid in the nasty side effects that may come with heat rash.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca oil or ti tree oil, is an essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor and a colour that ranges from pale yellow to nearly colourless and clear.
Tea tree oil contains a number of compounds, including terpinen-4-ol, that have been shown to kill certain bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It’s an inexpensive natural alternative to chemical-based skin and nail treatments, personal care products, and disinfectants.
Tea tree compounds help aid with burns and rashes, often practiced by Aborigines for centuries.
You can find tea tree oil in roll on forms, drip droppers, mixed in with other skin purifiers or pure liquid form sold in bottles.
Writers Wisdom:
I view tea tea tree oil as good cop, bad cop sort of thing.
Tea tree oil gives heat rash an extra kick in the ass by working as a purifier and as a herbal astringent. It also acts as a healer by providing a soothing and smoothing element to your skin.

Ice Packs
Ice packs are a simple, cheap, fast and handy heat rash healer. Heat rash is directly caused by soaring heat, so naturally ice packs would be the most logical healer.
Applying an ice pack to your heat rash will provide immediate relief from the inflammation, itchiness and prickly sensation by cooling down your skin and numbing that area.
Providing a cool down to your skin will also help prevent the heat rash from spreading farther and affecting more areas of your skin.
You can use an ice pack 3-5 times per day until the affected area decreases.
Instant Cold PackÂ
These are single use ice packs.
Instant cold packs contain calcium ammonium nitrate and water.
Shake and break ice pack to activate.

Writers fun fact: For whatever reason you don’t own a microwave because you think the rays will give you cancer, or perhaps you want to take this with you camping, then you are in luck my friend. You can warm these ice packs up in boiling water. Simply boil water, use a WOODEN SPOON and submerge the compress in the water for a few minutes and you got yourself a hot compress.
