As a woman, there are many things I wish I could change about myself (honest hour folks) but my eyelashes are not one of them.
In this article, we are going to be looking at the best mascaras for already long lashes.
I was blessed by my momma with extremely long lashes. We’re talking long lashes that prevent me from wearing sunglasses or they rub against the lens.
Lashes so long that people often ask me if I’m wearing falsies. If I had a penny for every time someone asked me what mascara I used I would have a million and one dollars.
You get the point, I’ll stop being that asshole who just types positively about themselves. Contrary to this article, I’m not that person. Just here to help all you long lash ladies out.
Mascara options typically are just lengthening, or a volume with a lengthening formula. This becomes a struggle when you have length but just want the volume.
Luckily for all of you reading this I have tried and tested just about every mascara out there. Below are my picks for the best mascara for girls with already long lashes. Most of these are going to focus on volume only since that is the missing key to getting that perfect full eyelash look! A key to the perfect volumizing mascara is paring it with a legit brush.

What is mascara made out of?
Mascara’s ingredients typically include a carbon black or iron oxide pigment to darken lashes; a polymer to form a film that coats lashes; a preservative; and thickening waxes or oils such as lanolin, mineral oil, paraffin, petrolatum, castor oil, carnauba wax, and candelilla wax.
Each product is going to be a little different so if you have allergies or want to buy a vegan product I suggest looking up a detailed product list.
How long can I keep my mascara?
Toss each tube after 3 months. Mascara has the shortest life span of all makeup because the risk of transferring bacteria back and forth from your eye into the mascara tube is so great. Your eyes aren’t something you want to mess with.
If your mascara starts to dry out before its 90 days is up, throw it away. Adding eye drops or olive oil to dried up tubes is great when you’re in a pinch and haven’t bought a new tube yet.
Does mascara expire?
Technically, NO. Store unopened tubes in a dark, cool place and it should last longer than said expiration date on the tube. Once you open it the 3-month rule will apply.
In reality, FDA’s legal authority over cosmetics is different from our authority over other products we regulate, such as drugs, biologics, and medical devices. Under the law, cosmetic products and ingredients do not need FDA premarket approval, with the exception of color additives
How should I apply Mascara?
Mascara should be one of the last things applied and should be applied at the base of your lash to the tip.
It is important to use a lighted make-up mirror to accurately apply your mascara! If you need tips on what make-up mirrors to use I recommend starting here!
It’s called better than sex for a reason. It might be a little pricey but it is totally worth it!
Made from unique peptides, it goes on silky smooth and gives you a rich, deep black color deposit.
The formula is smudge-proof and won’t leave you with raccoon eyes.
My favorite brush that I have ever used! The brush has a unique shape that allows the brush to get into every crevice and spreads every single lash hair out. Say goodbye to clumping!
I’ll describe this product in two words: life-changing. I travel for a living and will Uber an hour to a mall to grab this stuff.
While I don’t medically recommend this, I do keep on better than sex mascara wand in my makeup bag at all times. Why? I will use fresh mascara of any brand to get the product on my eyelashes, if my tube is out of product, and I use the better than sex wand to actually distribute it around!
Too Faced makes better than sex mascara in a standard size tube and in little travel mini ones.
My lashes in this picture are 100% not fake lashes, these are my lashes after a few coats of better than sex mascara! Not a paid ad but I would love for it to be.
My Top Drugstore Pick
Big fan of the formula consistency and the brush itself.
This product will give you 10x more volume.
The brush is made from tiny silicone strands that stay in great condition until you run out of the formula. Because the brush is made from silicone the mascara itself won’t clump on the brush as it will with other applicator wands
Application tip: Apply a few layers allowing a few seconds in-between each layer. Don’t wait too long or the formula will dry on your lashes and you will no longer have the ability to manipulate the shape of them with the brush.
The great thing about this brand is you can find it in pretty much every drugstore and grocery store. Because it’s made by a major corporation it comes in a large variety of colors. I dare to even say it might come in the most variety of colors.
My Top Wand Applicator
L’Oreal Paris made their formula with a built-in Clean Sweep Wiping System wipes the brush free of clumps, leaving the perfect amount of mascara for an ultra-volumized clean lash look.
One of the few products with a collagen-infused formula. This formula gives your lashes definition without leaving you with that stiff shape or feel.
I am a big fan of their wand. It’s lightweight and has a nice wand head so that you can control exactly where the brush goes.
My Top Fiber Mascara
Fiber lash is formulated green tea micro fibers that help boost volume.
You get two tubes with this package. One is a magnifying gel and the other is formulated with natural fibers.
A bonus gift of a lash brush is included in the set to help brush out any clumps that may happen during application.
Writers Tip: Use one coat of your favorite mascara to hold the fibers in place as a final step.
Yes, you have already long lashes but a little boost never hurt anybody. It’s like Victoria secret models still wearing heels. Yeah, they have legs to the moon but they want legs to Mars!
Laura Geller New York Lashboss has beeswax as the second ingredient which is curial because it shows you the mascara nourishes your lashes but will also give them the much-needed volume you are after!
This product is crucial for ladies with already long lashes because the brush itself focuses on giving your lashes volume with its wand shape and non-clumping formula. It also won’t flake off into your eyes after a few hours of wear! You know exactly what I’m talking about. No one likes being out to dinner to have to make a quick exit to the bathroom because you have a flakey glob of black mascara in your eye. Talk about a buzz kill.
Works great for sensitive eyes because of its ingredients including beeswax, paraffin, and wax.
Yes, I am vegan so it’s only natural I include a vegan-based mascara option.
People often confuse natural for being poor quality, which is rude and unrealistic. Vegan mascara doesn’t contain harsh chemicals so it actually helps stop lashes from falling out.
Most mascaras contain harmful chemicals and products that cause your lashes to break or fall out. Vegan products use all-natural products which helps stop lash thinning and promotes natural, healthy growth!
Natural mineral is hypoallergenic and tear-resistant, which is great for people who have naturally watery eyes.
Tip for application: Let this product dry COMPLETELY between coats! For normal mascaras, I don’t suggest this but for this vegan natural mascara, it is a must!
If you are spending time and money on mascara you should also invest in a good retinol or collagen product! You don’t want to bring attention to your lashes if you have deep wrinkles, fine lines or dark spots around your eyes. Learn more about getting rid of skin problems by clicking here!
