Ogee Contour Stick Review

After owning these sticks for a few months, I feel confident in being able to give a comprehensive product review.

Ogee Packaging

If you are like me and often order online, you know the product’s packaging is the first impression. Not just from an aesthetic standpoint but from a quality standpoint.

They place all three contour sticks in one super secure box that protects the product from damage.

I would suggest keeping the box if you travel a lot because it will keep them extra protected in your luggage.

When my products arrived, they were secure and 100% perfect!

How To Apply Ogee Sticks

You apply these sticks like any other contour product, after your foundation and before setting powder or spray.

Open the cap, glide onto the desired area, and blend in with a blending brush.

Ogee sells a blending brush, but I use the one I already had at home that I It’sff Amazon. It’s only $10 and works just as great as the $100 option.

As a final step, I also like to apply the highlighter stick on the top of my nose and on top of my checks.

Tip: these sticks are buildable and blend easily with each other, so you don’t need to be a makeup expert to use these.

You can also use the contour sicks before a powder foundation.

Additionally, you can use the contour sticks as your only makeup step for the day, which I typically do daily on top of my SPF moisturizer.

Other Uses For The Ogee Sticks

I like to use the red blush stick as an eyeshadow to make my face look put together.

You can also use these on your body to contour your upper half. I do this in the warm weather months and when I’m on vacation.

Sculpting & Smoothing

Made for an on-the-go glow, the convenient shape allows for easy contouring while stimulating collagen production and skin firming with trace amounts of caffeine.

Moisturizing & Mattifying

A blend of ultra-nourishing ingredients helps to hydrate while blurring Tapioca Powder minimizes the appearance of pores for smooth, flawless skin.

Ogee Contour Stick Results

I love how easy the color glides on and how low maintenance it is to blend.

You can use these sticks on your bare face or pair them with your full-blown 8-step makeup routine.

One of the most important things is how my makeup photographs and the Ogee sticks come through beautifully in photos and videos.

If I am in a hurry and I don’t let my serum, moisturizer, and foundation fully set between each layer, then the sticks don’t blend onto my face, and the colors just get pushed around and slide on the top layer. A simple fix to this is taking my time and allowing each product to be fully set before I move on to the next one.

I love that it gives you a contour look without having to be an expert in makeup application.

I’ve had my sticks for a few months now and I still am in love with them as the first day I used them.

What Is Contouring Makeup?

Contour makeup is a technique of using makeup to create the illusion of shadow and light on the, facemakingng the appearance of more defined and chiseled facial features. This is achieved by using a darker shade of makeup to create shadows on areas of the face that should recede, such as the hollows of the cheeks, the temples, and the jawline. Lighter shades of makeup are then used to highlight areas of the face that should stand out, such as the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and the forehead.

Contour makeup is often combined with other makeup techniques, such as highlighting, to create a more sculpted and defined look. It can be applied using various types of makeup, including cream, powder, or liquid formulations, and can be tailored to suit different skin tones and facial features. Contour makeup has become increasingly popular in recent years, with many makeup artists and beauty influencers demonstrativariousent techniques and products to achieve the perfect contoured look.

How to do contour for beginners.

Contour With Your Face Shape

Contouring can be intimidating for beginners, but with the proper technique and products, it can be pretty easy to master. Here are some general steps to follow:

  1. Prepare your skin: Start with a clean, moisturized face. Next, apply a foundation that matches your skin tone all over your face to create an even canvas.
  2. Choose your contouring product: Select a contouring product that is a few shades darker than your skin tone. You can use a cream or powder product, depending on your preference.
  3. Identify your facial features: Identify the areas of your face that you want to contour. These are typically the areas that you want to recede or make less prominent, such as the hollows of the cheeks, the temples, the jawline, and the sides of the nose.
  4. Apply the contour product: Using a contour brush or sponge, apply the contour product to the areas you identified in step 3. Be sure to blend well to avoid harsh lines or a patchy appearance.
  5. Highlight: To make your features stand out, apply a highlighter to the high points of your face, such as the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and the forehead. Be sure to blend well to avoid a stark contrast between the highlighted and contoured areas.
  6. Set your makeup: Finally, set your makeup with a setting spray or powder to ensure it stays in place all day.

Remember, contouring is all about creating the illusion of shadows and light to enhance your features, so take your time and practice until you achieve the desired effect.

If you’re like me and your face changes with your cycle, make sure to adjust your contour accordingly. When I’m on my period, I hold a ton of extra weight in my face, so it is more circle, and then a week or so after, it slims back down to a heart shape.
